Apple iPad dominates tablet web activity.
Among North American Users: For every 100 web pages views on an Apple iPad,
- Amazon’s Kindle Fire had 4.88 page views,
- Google Nexus range had 1.22 page views,
- Samsung’s Galaxy tablets achieved 3.04 page views.
“Eighty-seven percent of the tablet web traffic in North America is generated by iPad,” said Gabe Donnini, of Chitika, an analytics company.
The above stats which analysed the web activity of US and Canada between Dec 8th-14th, 2012 are a part of the Chitika’s latest release on the tablet market.
One thing that needs to be noted down is that the time during which the tablet web activity has been analyzed.Since Christmas, when a new bunch of tablets are expected to be bought and used, this should surely impact the behaviour of the market.
In September 2012, during the launch of iPhone 5, Tim Cook referred figures saying that the 91 % of the web traffic from tablets came from iPad.
Cook said: “Now, I don’t know what these other tablets are doing. They must be in warehouses or on store shelves or maybe in someone’s drawer.”
