Day 1: Key Announcements from Google IO 2016

The first day of Google’s annual software-developer focused conference Google IO 2016 started with some major announcements – Android N, Android Insta Apps, Virtual Reality Headset & Motion Controller, Android Wear 2.0, Android Studio 2.2 and Firebase expansion.

  • Android N: Improved performance in Graphcs & Runtime
  • Android Insta Apps: Access mobile applications without downloading the full versions
  • VR Headset & Motion Controller: Revealed plans of launching advanced VR Headsets and Motion Controllers. Packed with Google Play, will offer more powerful gaming experience.
  • Android Wear 2.0: Now more access to other applications, giving users an easy access to app data.
  • Android Studio 2.2: The studio becomes lighter with extra features.
  • Firebase: Recently acquired startup ‘Firebase’ gets an expansion, gets pumped with more than a dozen features.
